There are many ideas which can be utilized to explore the theme of Smogbusters Way to School. Expressive art is one of them.
Ideas for Smogbusters Way to School expressive arts:
- Make kites and learn to fly them.
- Learn and sing the Smogbuster song. This can be performed on the Smogbusters Day of Change.
- Write new Smogbusters songs as a class and learn to sing one on the Smogbusters day of change.
- Create a play where the characters are pollutants from the car.
- What would they have to say about what they do to the environment?
- What would the solution to combating these pollutants be from a Smogbuster.
- Write and perform a play where the theme is: “It’s healthier to walk, cycle and use public transport than to drive a car”.
- Create a dance that promotes a Smogbuster’s message.
- Get students to imagine themselves in the back of a car. Ask them to describe or draw what they see, what types of noises do they hear? How do they feel?
- Have a Smogbuster poster/drawing/colouring competition.
- Have a Smogbuster poetry/story competition in class or throughout the school and publish winning pieces in the school newsletter.
